Dagenham’s Cycle Super-Highway
Cyclists from across the area will benift from a new super highway which officially opens on the 22nd.
Starting in Noak hill the route will pass through Harold Wood, Upminister, Hornchurch and Rainham ending up at the Thames at the riverside carpark.
The opening ceremony will be held at the newly built bridge over the River Ingrebourne at 12.00pm.
Gants Hill Parking Consultation Gets Underway
The debate over whether to scrap parking restrictions in Gants Hill is nearer being resolved.
A council committee meeting last week were asked to consult on plans to exclude Saturdays from tyhe controlled parking zone in the area.
Councillor Ruth Clark said;
“We need to encourage daytime footfall to the area”
Councillors have agreed to consult with local people on scrapping current waiting restrictions in Gants Hill on Saturdays and introducing a one hour waiting restriction instead. It’s hoped this will please residents and business owners.
Essex road chaos
Ambulance crews have been kept very busy today dealing with several road traffic collisions on the roads in our area this morning.
There was a crash on the Southend Arterial Road in Rayleigh involving a car and lorry just before 7am.
Cr
ews were also called to West Horndon in Brentwood after a car spun the A127 and hit another vehicle.
Motorists are being urged to take extra care and not to drive through flooded roads.
