Woman Injured in Loughton Church in Stable Condition
A church worker was left pinned behind her desk when a car crashed into the front of the building.
Juliette Harvey was working at the Loughton Methodist Church, on High Road, when the BMW ploughed into the building at 4pm July 30.
The mum of two young children was airlifted to Queen’s Hospital, Romford, and later transferred to the Royal London Hospital, where she is being treated for injuries to her leg and pelvis.
She is described as being in a stable condition.
The black BMW ploughed into the church office, leaving the glass front and first floor tower room completely destroyed and exposed.
The High Road was closed until shortly before 10pm while police carried out initial investigations, while a recovery firm removed the car from the scene.
The car was being driven by a woman from Loughton who police say is “badly shaken”.
